Violent clashes broke out Tuesday between Palestinian gunmen and Israeli occupation army forces in the West Bank city of Jenin after forces surrounded a house of the Tawabsi family in the Target neighborhood adjacent to Jenin camp.
According to eyewitnesses, the army used shells to shell the besieged house and arrested a young man before leaving the scene, while a Palestinian was moderately injured by the violent clashes that accompanied the incursion.
Earlier, Israeli police announced the arrest of a Hamas cell in east Jerusalem, which it said planned to carry out several operations.
Israeli police said they and the Israeli Public Security Service (ISA) arrested five Palestinians on suspicion of belonging to the cell on April 22.
"Among other things, the suspects planned to carry out shootings at Israeli targets and public figures, including the intention to harm Knesset member Itmar Ben Ghafer," israeli police said.
