The United States has added 71 new entities from Russia and Belarus to its trade blacklist, including aircraft factories, shipbuilding and research institutes, as part of its efforts to deprive the Russian military of U.S. technology and other elements.
The export restrictions are part of a series of new sanctions imposed by the United States on Thursday in response to the war in Ukraine, including sanctions against more wealthy Russians and members of the country's elite.
The new sanctions include 70 Russian companies and other entities such as the Russian Academy of Sciences. In total, the Commerce Department has so far added 322 entities to its economic blacklist because of russian military support since February.
