The General Authority for Visual and Audio Media in Saudi Arabia announced tuesday the arrest of a famous figure in the application Snapchat, an Arab nationality, after it violated the regulations in force in the Kingdom related to the controls of business and advertising.
She also issued a circular suspending her from advertising and fined her 400,000 riyals for working without a license despite not being entitled to do so, as she was coming on a tourist visa.
In addition, the Ministry of Commerce seized the offending facility and imposed regular sanctions on it.
It is noteworthy that the famous girl (Snapchat) violated several regulations, according to the Authority, including "the media system, the e-commerce system and the fight against smoking through the practice of advertising work without a license, and the publication of advertising clips and coverage through its social media accounts promoted tobacco products, which stipulates regulations and regulations to refrain from promoting, marketing or advertising their products directly or indirectly.
The violation was referred to the Committee for consideration of e-commerce system sanctions for regular sanctions and for the business.
The Authority issued a circular not to deal with the advertiser or its declaration and to notify the visitor of the suspension of the practice of advertising in the Kingdom or content addressed to the Saudi public.
Snapchat, which the Authority referred to for its first two letters (YO), arrived in Riyadh a few days ago on a tourist visit to the Kingdom to make several announcements, most notably an advertisement for tobacco and cigarettes.
