"Red Wave-5" exercise concludes in western fleet

 


The Royal Saudi Navy's Mixed Naval Exercise (Red Wave-5) exercises, with the participation of the Navy of the Red Sea countries of Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, Yemen, Djibouti and Somalia, as well as the participation of the Royal Saudi Ground Forces, the Royal Saudi Air Force and the Saudi Border Guards, concluded yesterday with the participation of the Western Fleet Commander, Commander of the Exercise, Major General Yahya bin Mohammed Asiri.

The Red Wave-5 exercises witnessed the implementation of many combat exercises such as clearing fortified positions, storming, live shooting and needle operations, while participating in the exercise a number of naval pieces, supporting fighter and vertical aircraft to carry out tactical tasks to achieve the principle of joint action, and showing the Royal Saudi Navy the appearance that reflects the development and excellence of the Saudi armed forces internationally.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the commander of the Western Fleet, the commander of the exercise, Major General Yahya Asiri, confirmed that the exercises are aimed at strengthening military cooperation, unifying concepts, raising combat readiness, and exchanging experiences, explaining that the exercise contributes to the development of security capabilities to protect the safety of the seas and regional and international waterways, and ensure freedom of sea navigation in the Red Sea.
