Turkish defense announces 3 soldiers killed in Iraq in less than 24 hours

 A Turkish soldier has been killed in clashes in northern Iraq during Operation Claw Lock, the third soldier to be killed since yesterday, the Turkish Defense Ministry said Monday.

The Turkish defense said that one soldier was killed yesterday in the explosion of an explosive device, while another person died of his injuries during operation "Claw Lock".

The Turkish Defense Ministry announced a few days ago that 18 PKK militants had been neutralized in the area of operation "Claw Lock" in northern Iraq.



"Eighteen PKK militants have been neutralized by drones in the area of operation (Claw Lock) in northern Iraq," the Turkish defense said in a statement last Saturday.

At dawn last month, Turkey announced the launch of operation "Claw Lock" against PKK militants in northern Iraq, noting that "this operation is aimed at tightening the noose on terrorists and eliminating them in their strongholds."

Turkish forces are carrying out military operations in northern Iraq against PKK positions, which Ankara classifies as a "terrorist organization".
