U.S. stocks began the day's session on a decline, weighed down by a decline in Apple and Tesla shares, while a strong jobs report fuelled fears of continued high inflation, thus encouraging the Federal Reserve to continue monetary tightening policies to "raise interest rates."
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 261.96 points, or 0.8%, to 32,986.32.
The S&P 500 opened down 39.25 points, or 0.9%, to 4,137.57.
The Nasdaq composite fell 219.78 points, or 1.8%, to 12,097.12.
