Saudi Minister of Health Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel said that approving the cabinet's decision to establish the health holding company and agreeing to organize the National Health Insurance Center will enable the effectiveness of the health system to be the regulator and supervisor of public and private health institutions, and health gatherings provide integrated health care services to beneficiaries in all regions of the Kingdom, in accordance with the modern health care model at different levels.
He said the decision lays the foundations for the implementation of the transformation strategy in the Ministry of Health, which will take place in successive stages in the coming years, where health groups will implement a range of transformational programs aimed at promoting community health, prevention and early detection of diseases and health risks, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
It will also raise the quality and efficiency of services provided to beneficiaries through primary health care development programs, such as a physician program for each family and chronic disease care programs, the development of specialized care services such as cancer and kidney failure care, and the development of critical care services to ensure rapid handling of heart and brain clots and injuries.
He will also support the expansion of digital health programs and virtual medical care services, stressing that this decision will help support the kingdom's health transformation and keep pace with The Kingdom's Vision 2030.
