Facebook's leaker, Francis Haugen, has revealed her concerns about Blue Site CEO Mark Zuckerberg's big plan for Metaverse, a kind of interactive internet that aims to move more of our lives into the world of 3D gaming.
"There are serious questions about the project that need to be answered before moving forward," she told The Sun.
"Do we want an entire generation of young people to live in virtual worlds," she said.
"I'm more concerned about older people, so instead of investing in community centers and helping them, we're moving the most marginalized people in our society to go and live in virtual reality."
"When we moved from desktops to phones, people became more connected to them," said the former Facebook content officer, noting that moving to metaverse is another step uptick."
"The reason for the transition to Metavirs is because people hate the life they were living, and they hid in this virtual world," she said.
Haugin had earlier expressed her fear of metavirs and its impact on forcing the future virtual reality world for individuals to disclose more of their personal information, website addiction and give the company another monopoly in the internet world.
