WhatsApp warns 2 billion users of something dangerous

WhatsApp has warned its 2 billion users of a fraudulent message, calling for it to be deleted immediately.

Wabetainfo, which tracks WhatsApp news, said fraudsters are accusing victims of being technically supported in the app in an attempt to steal their private information.

Fraudsters use instant communication apps extensively to steal users' information or money due to their widespread reach.

A photo posted by the site shows a comparison of whatsApp's true technical support account information with the fake technical support account.

To further mislead, fraudsters use the account image with the whatsapp logo, which appears official and authenticated.

But there is an easy way to make sure the account is real or not, a green documentation sign located below the account image and not inside it, a mark that fraudsters cannot obtain.

If any message from an account within its image receives the authentication tag, the message coming from it should be deleted immediately.

Fraudsters seek to know the pass number of the 6-digit account, so they can access the account, or the user's bank account numbers, to avoid stopping the account.

WhatsApp never requests any information about users' credit card or any other information such as a passcode for services on the app, and if anyone wants to get that information, it means they're trying to trick you.
