Palestinian Authority warns of "declaration of war that will blow up the region and the whole world"

The Palestinian Authority warned of "a new plan called by Jewish organizations aimed at demolishing the Dome of the Rock in the Al-Aqsa Mosque at the end of this month, saying these calls will lead to a "religious war."

"Such calls will lead the whole world to a fierce religious war that does not remain and will burn everyone," Mahmoud al-Habbash, an advisor to The Palestinian President for Religious Affairs, said in a press release, adding that such calls "are a blatant attack on the Temple Mount, an insult to the faith of Muslims and their first and third holiest mosque on earth after the Two Holy Mosques," according to the Palestinian News Agency-Wafa.

"Calls by extremist groups from settlers to demolish the Dome of the Rock chapel in al-Aqsa Mosque and storm it at the end of this month amount to a declaration of war against the Muslim world, an attack on the faith of Islam and a violation of international law," al-Habbash said, adding that "the continued targeting of al-Aqsa Mosque by settlers will lead to the explosion of the region and the entire world."

Al-Habbash addressed his "call to the international community to curb the occupation and its settlers", blaming the United States of America for the continued Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.
He described the settlement calls as "pre-prepared plans to attack the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in the silence of the international community and its disregard for the crimes of occupation in Palestine".

On Wednesday, Israel announced that the "March of Flags" would be allowed to pass through the Islamic quarter of occupied East Jerusalem and the Bab al-Amud area.
Internal Security Minister Omr Barlev agreed at the end of an assessment of the situation, accompanied by police chief Kobe Shabtai and Jerusalem district police chief Doron Turgman, to allow the march organized by Jewish extremists to pass through Bab al-Amud, the Hebrew newspaper Yediot Aharonot reported.

She added that Barlev accepted the police's proposal to allow the march from West Jerusalem to pass through Bab al-Amud to the Al-Buraq wall adjacent to the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
