Manchester United announced on Wednesday the departure of French international midfielder Paul Pogba from the ranks this summer, after six years in his second term with the Red Devils.
The club said in a statement that the 2018 World Cup crowner will leave "at the end of June at the end of his contract", amid reports that he could return to Juventus, where he played between 2012 and 2016 after a first spell with United, who graduated from the junior teams.
United brought Pogba back to Old Trafford in 2016 with a record-breaking world deal of £89 million ($112 million).
Pogba did not provide united with the levels he appeared at Juventus and was one of the most prominent elements who contributed to the coronation of Bianconeri with the Serie A title four times or his pivotal role with france in the 2018 Russia World Cup.
His best, though not extraordinary, was with Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho when United last won their titles in 2017 with a Europa League and English League Cup.
His physical problems led to him playing only 27 games for the team in all competitions last season, which ended in disappointment for him and the club, which failed to occupy a qualified position in the Champions League.
The 29-year-old finished his last 233 matches for United in the 10th minute at Anfield (in the loss to Liverpool) in April 2022 after having to go out due to another physical setback.
Pogba joined United's junior team in 2009 at the age of 16 from Le Havre and won the England Junior Cup before rising to the first team in the 2011-12 season and leaving for Turin.
The 2018-19 season was his best in England under Mourinho when he scored 16 goals in 47 games.
While reports suggested that Paris Saint-Germain could be a potential destination, Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that the Frenchman may wait for the release of his documentary "Bogmantry" on June 17th on Amazon Prime Video to officially announce his decision.
