European Commission: Sanctions on Russia's financial sector must be considered

 

European Commission President Ursula von Derlain said Tuesday that member states will work together to strengthen defense in the face of "Russian aggression" and ensure energy supplies and the food crisis.

The President of the European Commission also said that sanctions against Russia's financial sector should be considered.

Europe's sanctions did not affect food products.

On Monday, EU Council President Charles Michel said EU leaders had agreed to ban the export of Russian oil to the 27-nation bloc.
